LKSR is looking for volunteers in the following areas:
Sponsorship (FULL for 2017)
We have created the sponsorship packet, but we need help getting the word out! Sponsorship volunteers will help us by contacting local businesses and networking to find companies that want to take part in making this event the best it can be. Previous experience is helpful, but not necessary. We’ll give you all the tools and show you how to use them.
Social Media (FULL for 2017)
Do you use Instagram, Twitter or FaceBook already? Then this position may be for you! LKSR is seeking enthusiastic social media volunteers to help come up with, craft, and post engaging content for our social media outlets as well as our website and keep the buzz going!
Course Marshals (Race Day Only – 4 spots left)
This Crew will keep the Kinetic Peace throughout the racecourse. Traveling with the race on foot or by bike, these volunteers will be educated on the rules of Kinetic Racing and are responsible for keeping our teams in line and handing out penalties when applicable. Duties include morning inspection of your assigned team’s machine and general cat-herding as you travel with the race until its finish. Time commitment is 8am – 4pm race day only.
Cones Crew (Race Day Only – 3 spots left)
Hours are 9:30am-5pm on race day. Duties include riding in the cones truck and distributing/collecting traffic cones on the race course.
Tents / Tables / Chairs Crew (Race Day Only – 5 spots left)
Duties include riding in, or following, the Tables & Chairs Truck (1 person who is over 25 w/ a valid license to drive) dropping off tables/chairs at each of the 3 venues and picking them up later in the day. Time commitment is 7am – 5pm.
Breakdown Crew (Race Day Only – 6 spots left)
Duties include traveling from the Mud venue, to the Water venue, and lastly, to the Finish line supporting our venue crews as they wrap things up for the day before we all gather at Fuse Bistro for the official LKSR After Party. Time commitment is 2:30pm – 6pm.
Race Status Reporter (Race Day Only – 1 spot left)
Duties include traveling with race (on bike) and keeping management informed of the race location and other information. Time commitment is 10am – 4pm.
People’s Choice Awards (Race Day Only – FULL)
This crew will interact with the spectators and gather votes for their favorite machines! The team that gets the most votes will win the coveted People’s Choice Award. Time commitment is 8am – 5pm.
Bucket Brigade Crew (Race Day Only – FULL)
Duties include interacting with the crowd, handing out smiles and other keepsakes, and collecting donations that keep LKSR Free For All. Time commitment is 9am – 5pm.
Market Street Crew (Race Day Only – 3 spots left)
This Crew will be responsible for corralling the teams on Market Street for the start, as well as overseeing the stage area and the finish line of the race. Time commitment is 8am – 5pm.
Registration & Merch Sales Crew (Race Day Only – 3 spots left)
Duties include helping racers register in the morning on Market Street and/or manning our LKSR merch tents at either Market Street or Sampas Pavilion. Time commitments are either 6am – 12pm or 12pm – 5pm.
Team Guides (Race Day Only – 2 spots left)
Duties include traveling with race on your bike and helping wrangle the teams as they arrive and leave each venue. Time commitment is 8am – 4pm.
Spectator Guides (Race Day Only – FULL)
Duties include traveling just ahead of the race on your bike and helping wrangle the spectators as they arrive at each venue. Time commitment is 10am – 4pm.
Mud Obstacle Crew (Race Day Only – 5 spots left)
Duties include MUD! YES. It is as fun as it looks. Get ready to get dirty! Time commitment is 9am – 2pm.
Water Obstacle Crew (Race Day Only – 3 spots left)
Duties include supporting set up / breakdown of the venue and band and general cat herding. Time commitment is 10am – 5pm.
