As we enter into our 4th event year of LKSR we would like to increase the amount of community members on our planning committee. If you love the race and its mission to inspire the engineers, artists, and visionaries of the future, we’d love to have you join our team!
We are actively seeking people who would like to lend their ideas and creativity to the following departments, but we are also interested in hearing what you would like to bring to the table.

We have an incredible relationship with our fiscal agent, the Greater Merrimack Valley Convention and Visitors Bureau, and we are fortunate to be able to use them as a resource for marketing ideas and strategy. However, as we’ve grown, LKSR’s brand and audience has become more defined with a more specific set of criteria that we are constantly looking to develop. Joining the Marketing Team means innovating how we reach people who’ve never heard of LKSR, and how we keep our supporters and fans engaged. The goal of the Marketing Team isn’t just to yell “LKSR” loudly, but to find the right places, times, audiences, and methods with which to yell “LKSR!”
Join this team and you will get to work alongside the incredible Meg Harrah and plan out all LKSR fundraising initiatives for the year. Remember the Axe Booth? Yup, all Meg’s idea. We are not afraid to take chances, so if you want to throw your ideas in the hat, this is the place for you!
The Grant Writing team will work with Max Farkas, who has been integral to LKSR receiving a grant of some kind *every single year.* This team will identify grants that we are eligible for and write the proposals based on materials from previous years and new inspiration of your design. This is a great opportunity to learn and hone your grant writing skills which can be applied to your own future ventures!
We have created the partnership packet, but we need help getting the word out! This team will contact local businesses, larger corporations, and expand our networking to find companies that want to take part in making LKSR the best it can be. Previous experience is helpful, but not necessary. We’ll give you all the tools and show you how to use them.
Every year it takes 100 volunteers on race day to make all the magic happen. This team focuses on pulling that group together throughout the year and distributing the information to make their race day as fun and productive as possible!
This team will work with Michael Roundy to increase team engagement throughout the year. Together you will refine the “LKSR Teams Presentation” and then identify and visit local schools, after school programs, and clubs generating excitement! This team is also the glue that keeps registered teams motivated and connected right up to race day.
Do you use Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter or FaceBook already? Then this team may be for you! LKSR is seeking creative and enthusiastic social media volunteers to help come up with, craft, and post engaging content for our social media outlets as well as our website, keep the buzz going, and increase our reach!
These things are amazing, but they don’t make themselves! This team will design and build the prestigious LKSR 2019 Awards.
